1. Do Braces Hurt?

Short answer: not really, but you might feel some discomfort at first.

When braces are first put on or adjusted, you may feel some pressure or soreness for a few days. This is totally normal and means your teeth are starting to move. Over-the-counter pain relievers and soft foods can help make things more comfortable during the adjustment period.

2. How Long Will I Have to Wear Them?

This depends on your smile goals and how complex your case is.

Most patients wear braces for 18–24 months, but some may need them for a shorter or longer time. At your consultation, we’ll give you a custom treatment plan with a timeline that fits your unique needs.

3. Can I Still Eat My Favourite Foods?

Yes, but with a few tweaks.

Sticky, hard, or crunchy foods can damage brackets and wires, so we’ll give you a list of foods to avoid. But don’t worry—you can still enjoy plenty of delicious meals and snacks with a little creativity (and maybe a smoothie or two).

4. How Do I Keep My Teeth Clean with Braces?

Brushing and flossing are extra important during treatment. We’ll show you how to brush around your brackets and use tools like floss threaders or water flossers to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Clean teeth = better results and fewer delays in your treatment!

5. Will I Still Need a Retainer After?

Yes, and it’s one of the most important steps in your journey!
