As treatment progresses, we use these same technologies to monitor your results, make any necessary adjustments, and keep you informed every step of the way.
Digital X-rays
Digital X-rays provide detailed images of your teeth, roots, and supporting bone, giving us a clear view of structures that aren't visible during a clinical exam.
The image produced helps your orthodontist evaluate tooth placement, diagnose orthodontic issues and create personalized treatment plans. They can also help identify underlying dental issues, such as cavities or existing restorations that may influence treatment.
Panoramic X-rays
Panoramic X-ray technology allows your orthodontist to capture a single two-dimensional image that shows all the structures in your mouth. This image includes the teeth, the upper and lower jaws, and the surrounding structures and tissues.
Panoramic X-rays are crucial for assessing the presence or absence of specific teeth and their roots, their form and structure, their eruption sequence, and their relationship to one another in the jaws. This provides key insights for treatment planning and assessment.
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)
CBCT is an advanced imaging technique that uses a specialized X-ray to create high-resolution 3D images of dental structures and tissues in the craniofacial region. This technology captures comprehensive data from a single scan, enabling detailed analysis and diagnosis of oral health conditions.
The images captured by CBCT enable more accurate treatment planning, including assessment of your airway to treat snoring and sleep apnea.
Intraoral Scanners
An intraoral scanner is a handheld imaging device. It creates highly detailed, three-dimensional digital impressions of the hard and soft tissues of the mouth, without the need for goopy impression materials! The process is minimally intrusive; you simply open wide, and your orthodontist will move the device around your mouth, capturing images. It only takes a few minutes to complete.
The system then renders 3-D models of the inside of your mouth, which are displayed in real time on a touch screen.
DentalMonitoring
At Cory Liss Orthodontics, we utilize a smartphone app called DentalMonitoring to monitor your orthodontic treatment. Using the app on your phone, you will take a scan of your teeth, which will be analyzed using AI technology to track your treatment progress. These photos are then compared with a digital model created at the start of your treatment to track your progress and determine whether any adjustments to your plan are needed.
As long as you have wifi access, you can take these photo scans and upload them from anywhere! This means fewer trips to our practice, but you will still have access to our team through the app.
